Here are at least 7 ways that the creative industries can use a blog
- You start your own blog to promote yourself as an author, poet, playwright etc... just write your best work on your blog and share it with your readers. You can also set it up so you release one chapter a week or something so people follow along and want to subscribe to your blog.

- You can show off your talents using video. Record yourself dancing, or show people how to dance. Record yourself speaking at an event and put the video up on youtube and then on your blog. People can't argue with what they can see - if they think you have talent it will shine through.

I often get asked what it takes to become a professional blogger and there are definitely a few important things to consider including:
- It is an obvious one but you need a blog. Not just any blog but an
easy to read, easy to navigate, optimized for the search engines blog.
You will be spending time writing great content and it will all be a
waste of time if no one can find you so take a look at your blog and
begin to look for ways that you can get it to work better.
- A professional blogger will see their blog as a business and
understand the importance of planning ahead, knowing their target
market, creating systems and working towards set goals and targets
based upon where they want their business to take them.
- Becoming a professional blogging is all about mindset and the need
to focus on staying motivated to succeed with a desire to achieve the
goals they set. A professional blogger will have a vision of how their
business will benefit their lifestyle and they will work towards
achieving that vision, never giving up, especially when life becomes
challenging.
